Eat Like an Anime Hero: Naruto’s Ichiraku-Inspired Ramen 🍜

Anime, skate culture, and a seriously good bowl of noodles.

If you know Naruto, you know the ramen. When our favorite orange-clad ninja isn’t training, fighting villains, or getting himself into trouble, he’s probably heading to Ichiraku Ramen for another bowl.

But Ichiraku is more than a place to eat. For Naruto, who grows up feeling isolated from his village, the ramen shop offers something just as important as a hot meal: kindness, familiarity, and a place where he’s always welcome. Food has a way of doing that. It brings people together, whether they’re ninja, skaters, anime fans, or just hungry.

Ready to bring a little Hidden Leaf Village energy into your kitchen? Here’s an easy, budget-friendly bowl inspired by Naruto’s favorite meal.

The Recipe: Quick Ichiraku-Inspired Ramen

Prep: 5 minutes | Cook: 10 minutes | Serves: 1

Ingredients

  • 1 pack Japanese-style instant ramen (soy sauce or miso flavor)
  • 2 cups water, or broth according to the noodle package
  • 1 egg
  • 2 slices cooked pork, leftover chicken, or tofu
  • 1 sheet nori (dried seaweed), cut into strips
  • 2–3 slices narutomaki (Japanese fish cake), optional
  • 1 green onion, thinly sliced
  • A few drops of sesame oil

Directions

  1. Bring the water or broth to a boil and cook the noodles according to the package instructions.
  2. Add your seasoning. For a richer bowl, replace some of the water with chicken broth.
  3. Soft-boil the egg for about 6–7 minutes, then cool, peel, and halve it.
  4. Transfer the noodles and broth to a bowl. Add your pork, chicken, or tofu, followed by the egg, nori, fish cake, and green onion.
  5. Finish with a few drops of sesame oil. Grab your chopsticks and dig in!

Skater’s upgrade: Add chili crisp, corn, or a little garlic for extra flavor. Pair it with your favorite Japanese snack, throw on a good anime episode, and call it a night.

A Little Food Culture With Your Anime

That pink spiral in the bowl? It’s called narutomaki, a type of Japanese fish cake commonly used as a ramen topping. Its distinctive swirl is a familiar sight in the series, and the food shares its name with Naruto himself. Learn more in the official Naruto website’s article about naruto fish cake.

Ramen is a beloved comfort food, with countless regional styles and variations. In Naruto, Ichiraku gives the story an everyday setting amid all the extraordinary ninja action. It’s a reminder that even heroes need somewhere to sit down, eat, and feel at home.

From the Bowl to the Board

Here at the intersection of skate culture, streetwear, and anime, we’re all about the things that bring people together. Maybe that’s a new deck, a fresh T-shirt, a packet of your favorite Asian snacks, or a steaming bowl of noodles after a long day.

You don’t need to master a thousand jutsu to make a great bowl of ramen. You just need a few ingredients, a little creativity, and an appetite.

Eat well. Skate hard. Stay curious. Believe it!
